The Home Ministry has issued a notification for caste census on Monday. The central government will conduct caste census in two phases. According to the notification, the first phase will start from October 1, 2026. It includes 4 hill states – Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
