Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, a prominent Akali Dal leader in Punjab and former Union minister, died on Wednesday. He was 89 years old. He was ill for some time. He breathed his last in a hospital in Mohali. He was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha from Sangrur in Punjab. In 2019, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan Award by the Central Government.
