PM Modi Accuses Congress-Pakistan “Partnership” as Former Pakistani Minister Praises Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public rally in Gujarat’s Anand, lashed out at the Congress party, alleging a covert collaboration with Pakistan following former Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry’s praise for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Modi asserted that Chaudhry’s endorsement revealed a concerning alignment between the opposition party in India and elements in Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted the coincidence of Congress’s diminishing influence in India and Pakistan’s apparent support for Rahul Gandhi’s leadership aspirations. He characterized this as evidence of a deeper connection between the two entities. The Prime Minister suggested that while Congress faces decline domestically, Pakistan appears eager to see Rahul Gandhi ascend to the Prime Minister’s office.

Modi emphasized the stark contrast between his government’s approach to national security and the purportedly softer stance of previous Congress administrations. He asserted that his administration’s firm response to terrorism stands in contrast to the alleged submission of previous Congress-led governments, accusing them of merely submitting dossiers to terrorists’ “masters” instead of taking decisive action.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came in response to Fawad Chaudhry’s public acknowledgment of Rahul Gandhi’s recent critical speech against the Modi-led BJP government. Chaudhry praised Gandhi for “presenting the current situation” of India in his address, prompting speculation about potential collaboration between the Pakistani establishment and the Indian opposition.

Amit Malviya, the BJP IT-Cell chief, further amplified the issue by highlighting Chaudhry’s endorsement of Rahul Gandhi, insinuating that Congress’s alliance with Pakistan was becoming increasingly apparent. Malviya questioned whether Congress was contemplating contesting elections in Pakistan, suggesting a convergence of ideologies between the Indian opposition and elements within the Pakistani political landscape.
