Gautam Gambhir Asks BJP Chief To Relieve Him From Politics, To ‘Refocus’ On Cricket

In an unexpected move, MP Gautam Gambhir of the Bharatiya Janata Party has declared his intention to retire from active politics. To inform his fans and followers of the news, the former cricket player for East Delhi took to Twitter. He stated that he wanted to concentrate on his cricket commitments, stating that he needed to refocus on the game he played with great passion prior to entering politics.
“In order to concentrate on my impending cricket commitments, I have asked Hon’ble Party President JP Nadda ji to release me from my political responsibilities. I am truly grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing me with this chance to help the public. “Jai Hind,” wrote Mr. Gambhir.

Gambhir’s announcement to leave politics coincides with rumors that he might not be granted entry to the 2024 elections.

Heavyweights like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are expected to be on the BJP’s first list of over 100 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The party convened a lengthy overnight sessions in Delhi that started at 11 p.m. on Thursday and ended at 4 a.m. on Friday, hosted by the prime minister at his Delhi home.

Gambhir had joined BJP in 2019 and won from the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
