College Student Collapses In Coaching Class In Indore, Dies

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, an 18-year-old college student passed away on Wednesday night following a heart attack during a coaching session. A resident of the city’s Bhanwarkuan neighborhood, Madhav was studying for the entrance exam of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and attending a class at one of the city’s many coaching centers when he felt a pain in his chest. The entire upsetting incident was captured on the classroom’s CCTV.

The young man, who is dressed in black, is seated among several dozen MPPSC candidates who are packed into a sizable room, sitting elbow to elbow. Madhav appears to be doing just fine at the beginning of the 32-second video, sitting up straight and paying attention to his books.

He leans over his desk and appears uncomfortable ten seconds into the video. Adjacent to him, a young man sags down and gives Madhav a back rub while seemingly inquiring as to whether he hurts. Then, Madhav’s friend frantically tries to get the instructor’s attention while it appears that Madhav is still in pain.

A few moments later, Madhav totally crumbles, toppling over his desk and hitting the ground.

By now, terrified students everywhere realize there’s a medical emergency , and they all run to assist. Tragically, Madhav passed away a few hours after being admitted to a local private hospital.

The death of Madhav has once again brought attention to the “silent heart attack,” which according to media reports has taken at least four lives in Indore alone in recent weeks. Numerous cases of “silent heart attacks” were reported in the previous year as well. Two such cases included the deaths of a 16-year-old girl and a 55-year-old businessman, both of whom occurred while exercising and possibly suffering from a cardiac incident.
