At the company’s silver jubilee celebrations at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, a private company’s CEO lost his life and another official was seriously injured in an odd unfortunate accident, police reported on Friday.

On Thursday evening, Vistex CEO Sanjay Shah and a colleague entered an iron cage that was supposed to be lowered from a height, but the iron chain supporting it broke on one side, causing both of them to fall. They were taken to the hospital, where Sanjay Shah passed away while receiving treatment, while his colleague’s condition is grave.

Sanjay Shah was the CEO of the US-based software firm Vistex, and his colleague Raju Datla was the president of the firm.

Vistex had arranged accommodations for its staff at Ramoji Film City and had planned a two-day celebration for its silver jubilee.

A case was registered against the Film City event management authorities based on a complaint made by another official of the company, the police added.
