In an unusual turn of events in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, a woman has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband over a disagreement revolving around a packet of Kurkure. The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, had developed a daily habit of requesting her husband to procure a Rs 5 packet of the popular snack. This seemingly innocuous habit escalated into frequent disputes between the couple.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, tensions reached a peak when the husband forgot to bring home the Kurkure, sparking a heated argument. Incensed by the denial of her daily indulgence, the woman left her marital home and sought refuge at her parents’ house. Subsequently, she approached the authorities seeking a divorce from her husband.

Married just last year, the couple was referred to family counseling by the Shahganj police in Agra. The husband, in his statement, expressed concern over his wife’s unusual craving for Kurkure, which had become a major point of contention in their relationship.

However, the situation took a darker turn when the wife alleged that she had to flee her husband’s home due to physical abuse. The police are currently investigating the matter to uncover the truth behind these allegations.

In a separate incident earlier this year, another couple from Agra sought divorce due to irreconcilable differences. The husband, a native of Sikandra, cited his wife’s increasing popularity in political circles as the reason behind their split. He expressed discomfort with her interactions with strangers and her commitment to a political career.

The wife, hailing from Thana in New Agra, remained steadfast in her determination to pursue politics, refusing to abandon her aspirations. As per the latest update on the case, the husband remained resolute in his decision, asserting that he would not reconcile unless his wife abandoned her political ambitions.
