Burj Khalifa Shimmers with Indian Tricolour, Welcoming PM Modi as Guest of Honor at World Government Summit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated address at the World Government Summit in Dubai, the iconic Burj Khalifa illuminated the night sky with a dazzling display, bearing the message “Guest of Honor – Republic of India”. This spectacular gesture extended a hearty welcome to the Indian Prime Minister as he prepares to partake in the prestigious event.

Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasized the enduring bond between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India, lauding it as a beacon of international cooperation. He hailed PM Modi’s presence as a special honor and underscored the significance of the strong ties between the two nations, which he described as a model for global collaboration.

Upon receiving an invitation from UAE Vice President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, PM Modi is slated to deliver a keynote address at the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai, where he will be accorded the distinguished title of Guest of Honor. The Crown Prince expressed his pleasure at having India as a prominent guest at the summit, highlighting India’s innovations, initiatives, and projects across various sectors as exemplary models for development and government service delivery.

The summit, which has evolved into a premier platform for sharing governance best practices, success stories, and future-oriented initiatives, is set to witness India’s significant contributions.

In addition to the captivating sight of the world’s tallest structure adorned in the colors of the Indian national flag, the event will also witness PM Modi’s official visit to the UAE, during which he is scheduled to meet with UAE Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Furthermore, PM Modi will inaugurate the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, signifying the deep cultural and historical ties between India and the UAE.

This remarkable display on the Burj Khalifa marks another chapter in the longstanding friendship between India and the UAE. Notably, this is not the first time that the iconic structure has paid homage to India, as it previously shimmered with the Indian tricolour in celebration of India’s 77th Independence Day in 2023, accompanied by the stirring rendition of the national anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana’.
