In a harrowing incident of road rage, a cab driver in Delhi met a tragic end after an accidental collision with an e-rickshaw spiraled into a brutal assault, culminating in his untimely death. Shakib, a 36-year-old cab driver, was on his way home after dropping off a passenger when his vehicle inadvertently struck an e-rickshaw near Red Fort, as reported by The Indian Express.
What started as a routine mishap quickly escalated into a nightmare scenario as three individuals confronted Shakib about the accident. Over the course of the next 20 minutes, he was subjected to a vicious attack, being dragged out of his WagonR, mercilessly assaulted, and stabbed multiple times. The situation took a fatal turn when he was shot dead allegedly by the assailants in front of a growing crowd of bystanders, none of whom intervened or sought police assistance.
The appalling incident unfolded near the Kodia Pul-Chatta rail crossing, with the assailants fleeing the scene unidentified. Despite the presence of numerous witnesses, the police were only alerted to the situation after Shakib was rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital. According to DCP (North) Manoj Kumar Meena, investigations revealed that Shakib had managed to restrain one of the attackers momentarily before being fatally shot along with a minor who was present as an eyewitness to the ordeal. The suspects remain at large.
