‘Heavy Costs Should Be Imposed’: Delhi HC Warns ex-AAP MLA Over Petition Against Kejriwal’s Chief Ministership

The Delhi High Court delivered a resolute message on Monday, emphasizing the imposition of heavy costs on Sandeep Kumar, a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, who filed a plea seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister.

Justice Subramonium Prasad, presiding over the case, underscored that similar petitions had been previously disposed of by a division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan. Expressing criticism towards the petitioner, Justice Prasad declared, “Heavy costs should be imposed on you.”

He further stated that since similar matters had already been addressed and rejected by the division bench, this particular plea should also be transferred before the Acting Chief Justice’s bench. Justice Prasad remarked that the plea, initiated by the former AAP leader, amounted to nothing more than a petition motivated by publicity, as reported by Bar and Bench.

The case is now slated for hearing before the Acting Chief Justice’s bench on Wednesday, April 10. Consequently, the High Court’s decision marks the dismissal of the third petition seeking the removal of Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
