Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Arrested was arrested by the Enforecement Directorate at his Ddelhi Residence. A team from the Enforcement Directorate arrived at Arvind Kejriwal’s home and started questioning him in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, hours after the Delhi High Court denied him protection from arrest in the liquor policy case.
The phones of the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and his family were seized, according to news reports, and the team, which consists of 12 officials, was inside the house with a search warrant. Teams from the CRPF, Delhi Police, and Rapid Action Force were stationed outside the residence while the ED officials conducted their interrogation inside.
Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who also reached the chief minister’s residence, said, “The way the police are inside and nobody is being allowed in, it seems like a raid is being conducted. It seems they have planned to arrest Arvind Kejriwal.”
Nine summons from the Enforcement Directorate regarding the purported liquor policy scam have been ignored by the AAP chief. He also disregarded a summons that the agency had issued on Monday in connection with a money-laundering case involving purported anomalies in the Delhi Jal Board.
Less than a week after BRS leader K Kavitha was detained in connection with the liquor policy case, the Delhi chief minister is being questioned by the ED team. Kejriwal was initially identified as a conspirator in the case following her arrest.
