    Kharge Questions Government as Sugar Prices Rise to ₹70 per Kg

    Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the Central Government after sugar prices rose to around ₹70 per kilogram. Kharge asked what kind of self-reliant India this represents, noting that sugar prices have increased nearly 40% over the past three months. The government, however, said rising sugar prices were not caused by ethanol production.
