NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has updated LPG eligibility rules. Consumers with a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection will no longer be eligible for domestic LPG cylinders. Those holding dual connections (PNG and LPG) must surrender their LPG cylinder immediately, as refills for such users are now prohibited. Issued under the Essential Commodities Act, this policy change will take effect once officially gazetted.
