The awards ceremony ended without the trophy after the Indian team decided not to accept it. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia reacted strongly to the incident. He stated that the Indian team’s action was completely justified and that the board would lodge a strong protest regarding this matter at the ICC meeting in November.
