Will R Ashwin play the 4th Test? Find out if he’ll
India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun came for the press conference before the fourth India-England Test. Everone had one qeustion: Will R Ashwin play at The Oval? And Bharat Arun kind of let the cat out of the bag.
In the first three Test of the ongoing five-match series, India have made senior off-spinner Ashwin be at the benches as the captain and the management have stuck with the four seamer and one spinner-cum-all-rounder formula. Thus Ravindra Jadeja played and not R Ashwin.
However, since the Test series has moved to the Kennington Oval. And Oval, as we all know is expected to be the slowest of the pitches, it could be yes for Ashwin but still would be entirely Kohli’s call.
“Ashwin, no doubt, is one of the best bowlers we have and its unfortunate that he has not played so far but if there is an opportunity and if we feel that he is going to fit into the scheme of things, they will definitely both be bowling in tandem,” Arun said when asked if both the spinners can fit into the playing XI in the fourth Test match to be played between India and England.
