Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav star as India defeat Australia by 6 wkts in 3rd ODI
India defeated Australia by 6 wickets in the third and deciding T20I in Hyderabad. Virat Kohli scored 63 while Suryakumar Yadav hit 69 as India chased down a 187-run target. India was initally tottering at 30 for 2 at one stage but the Kohli-Suryakumar duo added 104 runs for the third wicket to keep the side in the race.
Needing 11 runs in the final over, Kohli smashed a six off the first ball, but he perished the very next ball after playing a knock of 63. The equation came down to 4 off 2 balls, and it was then that Hardik Pandya managed to register a boundary to take the hosts over the line. India needed four runs to win off the final two balls when Hardik hit a boundary to cap off the game.
As soon as the winning runs were hit, Kohli and Rohit celebrated in unison. The duo was sitting at the stairs between the dugout and dressing room area. The duo hugged each other, and Kohli was also seen repeatedly patting Rohit’s back in excitement.
Earlier, Tim David played a 54-run knock and Cameron Green smashed a 21-ball 52 as Australia posted 186 for 7 in 20 overs. Axar Patel once again starred with the ball picking 3 for 33 in his four overs. India had won the toss and opted to field in the series decider.
Team India will next square off against South Africa in a three-match T20I series, beginning Wednesday.
