‘Matrix 4’ starring Indian actors Priyanka Chopra, Purab Kohli releases today

With two Indian actors Priyanka Chopra and Purab Kohli in The Matrix Resurrections, also called Matrix 4, with stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss in lead roles, Matrix Ressurections is a much-anticipated film in India which releases today.

The upcoming ‘Matrix’ movie brings back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity but it has some exciting new faces as well which includes Indian actor Purab Kohli. Purab is playing the role of a game developer in the film who works with Keanu’s character. Purab recently attended the film’s premiere in San Francisco and shared a note from the night on his Instagram.

His note read, “About last night. Or was it night before last. I’ve lost track of time on this absolutely fantastic week in #SanFrancisco Lucy and I at the premier of #thematrixresurrections so happy to be a part of #TheMatrix movies. Never imagined this would have been possible when i was first blown away by it in 1999!”

Purab Kohli had earlier collaborated with Matrix director Lana Wachowski on the Netflix series Sense8. He had to audition twice for the Netflix series as the casting directors lost the original tape.

Taking to Instagram, Priyanka Chopra uploaded a series of pictures after the premiere ,” What a night! The Matrix premiere! Also @luxurylaw brought it! The colors of my dress are an ode to my character in the film, Sati. I can’t wait for all of you to meet her!! So proud of this cast and crew. What an honour. Thank you Lana. @TheMatrixMovie #MatrixResurrections” .

The movie, which is the fourth instalment in The Matrix film franchise, comes nearly 20 years after the last film, The Matrix Revolutions.

The newest instalment of The Matrix Resurrections has a heady mix of some old favourites and new stars. While Keanu Reeves returns as Neo/ Thomas Anderson, he will be accompanied by Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith, who will be reprising their roles of Trinity and Niobe respectively.

And, the lineup of stars who are making their debut in the Matrix world are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ellen Hollman, and Christina Ricci in pivotal roles.
