Delhi Excise Policy Case: CBI Books Sisodia, Others After Raid

The CBI today registered a case against Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi and others after its raid at his residence in Delhi earlier in the day. The CBI has also booked Arva Gopi Krishna, the then Commissioner (Excise), Delhi; Anand Tiwari, the then Deputy Commissioner (Excise), Delhi; Pankaj Bhatnagar, then  Assistant Commissioner (Excise), Delhi; 10 liquor licencees, their associates & unknown others on a reference from MHA(GOI).

It was alleged that irregularities were committed including in modifications in Excise Policy, extending undue favours to the licensees, waiver/reduction in license fee, extension of L-1 license without approval etc.

It was further alleged that Illegal gains on count of these acts were diverted to concerned public servants by private parties and making false entries in their books of accounts.

Meanwhile, the CBI continued its raids at 31 locations including in  Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru. The CBI claims to have recovered incriminating documents/articles, digital records etc. during the raids.  As of now, the CBI investigation is continuing.
